John Marquis was the owner of 126 and 128 Farrell Street from about 1895 to 1910. He was a shipwright and lived at 402 Graham Street. He was married to Martha Kidd and they had two children. A son, James Alexander operated a bootmaker's business from the address in Graham Street.
