Alfred married Elizabeth Ferrier in 1883. They had three children:

127 Farrell Street 1915-1936
He was a son of Alfred and Elizabeth.
Herbert married Nellie Maud McDermott in 1912. They were living in Brunswick in 1913 when their eldest child, Marjorie Jean was born. In 1913 a second daughter, Betty Ellen was born in Prahran, during the time they were living in 127 Farrell Street.
Ann Smallpage remembers their father going to the 1939-1945 war. Betty and Ann Smallpage were friends from Grade 1 at Graham Street School. From there they went to Middle Park Central School and Betty went on to Zercho's Business College.
