Michael Broderick owned 174 Farrell Street for about 10 years, then it remained in his estate for another 20 years until after 1960. Although he was never a resident of this precinct, he was born in Port Melbourne and baptised at St Joseph's in 1888 when his parents lived at 81 Bridge Street.
