Parents: David and Margaret FITZGERALD (both late), Wife: Mrs Louisa FITZGERALD, born South Melbourne. He enlisted as a 41-year-old driver with his wife at 208 Albert Street, Port Melbourne, parents noted in South Melbourne. Fitzgerald died at the 17th Casualty Clearing Station from gunshot wounds to the abdomen and thigh. His widow returned circular from 4 Baxter Place, South Melbourne. The Standard briefly reported his death on 3 November, 1917 and a Death Notice in The Argus mentioned nine siblings, but there is no remaining evidence of any children of the family.
