Brian Membrey
Although not directly linked in any records, he was the elder brother of Roy Clifford STONE, died of wounds 12 April, 1918. Roy Stone nominated Ernest at 80 Spring Street as his next of kin, this address shown when Ernest was awarded a pension after he returned in 1917. Roy’s archives list his father’s whereabouts as unknown, a letter from his mother prior to medals being issued suggesting that her husband had deserted her around 1906 and she had not seen him since. She was awarded Roy’s medals, Memorial Plaque and Scroll.
