Enlisted as a 22-year-old slaughterman with his father at 233 Ross Street, circular returned from that address, brothers 4138, Daniel Douglas BOYD returned wounded May, 1918; 2170, William BOYD returned wounded August, 1916. Noted as one of three casualties at the unveiling of the City Mission Honour Board, Standard, 8 September, 1917.

“I have seen his grave in the Military Cemetery at Grevillers. There is a cross with his name on. “Died of Wounds” is on the cross. He was a particular pal of mine. His name is Angus and he was working for a butcher at Cranbourne, Victoria when I first met him, that was about six months before War started. He was in A. Coy., 3 Plat”. (A. BG.
