“Private J. A. Edwards, wounded in action, was a native of Port Melbourne. He was educated at St. Joseph’s, and was a boot maker by trade, employed at Collingwood. He is a single man, 23 years of age, living with his parents in Abbotsford. He had no military. training previous to the outbreak of the war. He joined the 7th Battalion Second Reinforcements, and has an elder brother also at the front with the Third Field Ambulance. He is a nephew of Mrs. J. Berreen, of Port Melbourne”.
