Duigan embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board RMS Moldavia on 2 October 1915, but was not on board when the vessel left Fremantle. His fate remains unknown – letters from his mother post-war suggest that she had been told he had been killed in action, but there does not appear to be any trace of him in A.I.F. after he apparently “jumped ship”. NZ Cenotaph archives reveal he later enlisted in New Zealand, serving as 3/3717, unit not disclosed, but embarking November, 1917 Parents, Thomas and Mary Ann DUIGNAN, NZ BDM 1882/15014
