Corporal, 13th Australian Infantry, died of wounds 22 May, 1915, Gallipoli, aged 26 (AWM incorrectly shows 36), commemorated Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli (buried at sea)

1083 (also known as YOUNG, Charles)  (Parents: James and Mrs M. GRANT; wife: Mrs Beatrice YOUNG-GRANT, born Daylesford, educated Albert Park SS an place of association shown as Albert Park .    Enlisted in Sydney under the name of Charles YOUNG, wife in Redfern as next of kin, but later shown at 113 Pickles Street, Port Melbourne before re-marrying and moving to South Australia.  He died of wounds to the abdomen aboard HSNewmarket while being transported back to Egypt, buried at sea)
