He enlisted Casula, NSW as a 22-year-old miner but address as c/o Mrs LEWIS, 254 Bay Street, mother in Queensland as next of kin. Sievwright returned to Australia in November, 1917 and was discharged as medically unfit, 19 May 1918 He died 19 December 1920 of pulmonary tuberculosis in the Woodville Red Cross Rest Home in Randwick, interred Rookwood Cemetery, Sydney.
