Parents: Thomas O’Connor, born Port Melbourne. He enlisted as a 35-year-old locomotive engine driver based with his father in Ararat. No known grave, no circular returned.

    John Joseph O’Connor was born in Woodend in 1880. His parents were Thomas and Catherine (Hart). John was a locomotive driver and was stationed in Ararat at the time of his enlistment. His sister Margaret was his housekeeper and was left devastated by his death.
