Perhaps a marginal inclusion – he enlisted in Port Melbourne as a 32-year-old platelayer, address as the Flagstaff Hotel, West Melbourne. His cause of death is somewhat unclear – he was invalided back to England with a gunshot wound to the thigh, but at the time of his passing some five weeks later was also shown as suffering from bronchitis and pneumonia. No circular returned.
