His eldest son, George (junior) served as 2889, Private, 24 Infantry and was killed in action 12 May, 1918, France, aged 23, commemorated Ribemont Communal Cemetery Extension, France. His Attestation placed his mother Mrs Ethel May Jackson at 35 Chessell Street, South Melbourne, his own address 69 Dorcas Street as a 21-year-old labourer. His father was noted as “serving in the A.I.F”
